LSU Lab School Welcomes New Digital Communications Specialist

BATON ROUGE, LA — The University Laboratory School is excited to welcome Julia Jackson as the next Digital Communications Specialist, effective May 2025. Julia Jackson

“We are excited to welcome Julia to our team,” said Rob Lyles, interim director of the University Laboratory School.  “This position is crucial for promoting the incredible students, faculty and staff here. I know she will help us communicate our story with purpose and pride to families, alumni and the Baton Rouge community.”

In her new role, Jackson will oversee internal and external communications, including website updates, the school’s social media presence and community newsletters. She will support the school’s mission to serve as a model demonstration school through strategic communication and outreach initiatives.

A Texas native, Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication from the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication, where she was actively involved in student media, PRSSA and served as a Manship Ambassador. She brings a strong background in public relations and digital storytelling to her new role.

“I am honored to join the University Laboratory School to help tell the stories of the people who make being a Cub so special,” Jackson said. “I look forward to working with students, staff, families and alumni to promote the ULS vision and support its continued success.”

Jackson’s hire reflects ULS’s commitment to achieving total effort in every endeavor, including connecting and engaging with the community. Her work will support the school’s vision to represent the highest standards in education, research and innovation across Louisiana and beyond.

The University Laboratory School (ULS) is one of the six schools operated under the auspices of the Louisiana State University College of Human Sciences & Education. This model demonstration school exists to provide training opportunities for pre- and in-service teachers and to serve as a demonstration and educational research center. The school is located on the main campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
