LSU Lab School Students Selected for LMEA All-State Honor Bands and Choirs, and Music Educator Recognized with Prestigious Award

We are beyond excited to announce some incredible achievements by LSU Lab School students and faculty, as several have been selected for prestigious music ensembles and awards. From the LMEA All-State Honor Bands and Inaugural Louisiana Music Educators Association Middle School All-State Honor Choir to the American Choral Directors Association National Honor Choir, these talented students have shown remarkable skill and dedication. Additionally, we are thrilled to share that Ethan Archer, one of our own music educators, has been selected for the Louisiana Music Education Association’s 2025 Outstanding Young Music Educators Award!

LMEA All-State Honor Bands:

  • High School Symphonic Band:
    • Dalton Rousselle - Percussion
  • Middle School Symphonic Band:
    • Carson Vick - Tuba
    • Jude Vignes - Trumpet

These students earned their places in the LMEA All-State Honor Bands through a rigorous audition process, which tested their musical abilities and dedication. In January, they will represent LSU Lab School at the LMEA Conference in New Orleans, performing alongside some of the best young musicians in the state.

Inaugural Louisiana Music Educators Association Middle School All-State Honor Choir:

A big round of applause to the following middle school choir students (director Dana Lux) for making the Inaugural Louisiana Music Educators Association Middle School Louisiana All-State Honor Choir:

  • Drew Trahan - Alto

  • Owen Vann - Tenor
  • Davis Bourgeois - Bass

These students have proven their vocal talents through a challenging audition process, and their achievement marks a significant milestone for LSU Lab School’s choir program.

American Choral Directors Association National Honor Choir:

Another big round of applause goes to the following middle school choir students (directors Dana Lux and Margaret Milam) who have been selected for the American Choral Directors Association National Honor Choir:

  • Grayson Morgan - Tenor 2
  • Mia Gouri - Soprano
  • Lila Morton - Soprano
  • Charlie Tickle - Alto

This prestigious recognition places them among the top young choral performers in the nation, and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments.

Ethan Archer Receives the 2025 LMEA Outstanding Young Music Educator Award

We are also thrilled to announce that Ethan Archer, one of our talented music educators, has been selected for the Louisiana Music Education Association’s 2025 Outstanding Young Music Educators Award! This award recognizes young music educators who have made an outstanding impact on student learning, and Ethan's dedication to fostering a love of music in his students has clearly set him apart.

Ethan will be honored during the LMEA All-State Concerts on January 18th, 2025, at the New Orleans Riverside Hotel at 10:30 AM. Additionally, LMEA President has sent a congratulatory message to LSU Lab School for this outstanding achievement.

These achievements reflect the hard work, talent, and commitment of our students and educators. Whether it's performing at the LMEA Conference or being selected for national honor choirs, these students have proven that they are among the best in the state and country. With Ethan’s recognition, it’s clear that the LSU Lab School music program is having a profound impact on both student learning and the broader music community.

Representing LSU Lab School at National and State Levels

In January, our students will perform at the LMEA All-State Concerts in New Orleans, while the choir students will be featured in their respective events. It’s a testament to their talent and determination, and we know they will continue to make LSU Lab School proud.
