LSU Lab School Students Earn Prestigious Academic Honors
Baton Rouge, LA — The LSU Lab School is proud to announce that three of its students
have been recognized for outstanding academic achievements. Calla Graves has been
named a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, while Claudia Harris and Derrick
Brooks have both received the College Board National African American Recognition
Award.
Calla Graves earned the distinction of National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, placing her among the top students in the nation. This recognition is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic potential, based on their performance in the PSAT/NMSQT.
In addition, Claudia Harris and Derrick Brooks have been honored with the College Board National African American Recognition Award. This prestigious recognition celebrates their academic excellence and outstanding performance on the PSAT, placing them among the top African American students in the country.

The National Merit Scholarship and College Board recognition programs highlight students who excel in academics and serve as role models for their peers. These honors will also bolster the students' college applications and provide access to additional scholarship opportunities.
