Youth Legislature
57 of our 7th and 8th graders participated in Youth Legislature on Wednesday and Thursday, May 2nd and 3rd. Coleen Leslie was elected Secretary of State, Reid Schneckenburger was selected to be the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Alden Guerin served as the President Pro Temp of the Senate. Four of the six bills they presented were passed by one chamber, two went further to be passed by the second chamber, and one was signed into law (Double DUI Penalties When Minor is in Vehicle sponsored by Megan Upperman and Emery Schwab). The outstanding legislators, officers, and press delegates selected to be in the Hall of Fame were Kaily Belleau, Caden Carver, Madison Catalanotto, Elizabeth Feltner, Manning Greene, Alden Guerin, Matthew Johnson, Anna Kathryn Jones, Kaelan Merrifield, William Montgomery, Kylie Morris, Madelyn Myer, Isabelle Grace Nichols, Sean Patrick Richards, Peyton Segrest, Coleen Leslie, Reid Schneckenburger.
Opening Doors Food Drive
For the entire spring semester, our student councils will work with Opening Doors to fill their food
shelves and earn in kind contributions from the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. We have planned our donation list for each month. You may send non-perishable food donations to your child's homeroom or they may be dropped off in the donation box in Dr. Camburn's office. The full schedule can be viewed here.
