PTA U-High Used Uniforms Project

Hundreds of sizes and styles will be available at the used uniform sale. It will take place on August 10th and 11th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the University Lab School Gymnasium. Please join us to grab some bargains and help support the PTA.
All proceeds will be used to fund future PTA projects.

Film Awards

For the second year running, Lab School seniors have won the "Best Local Talent" award at the Baton Rouge Aspiring Filmmakers Festival. Second year IB Film class students Betty Vine (cinematographer), Alex Guendel (editor), and Cecilee Janis (director) won their category for the film "Bad Faith," starring Micah Peters, Jason Binder, Sam Chapman and Steven Babcock.

River of Words Contest Winners

River of Words announced young winners and finalists of their 14th Environmental Poetry and Art contest. The contest—the largest youth poetry competition in the world— is conducted by the non-profit River of Words and affiliated with the Library of Congress Center for the Book. Poetry winners this year include two LSU Lab School students, senior David Lauve and sophomore Caroline Devlin. Their poems were among 50 selected from over 20,000 entries from around the world. The two Lab School students are among four winners from Louisiana. Their poems can be found online at riverofwords.org , and will be featured in the upcoming ROW anthology. Teachers of this year’s winners are Connie McDonald and Candence Robillard.

Art Students Honored

The following students will have their art work on display at the state capitol on Friday May 8: Marshall Berg, Jackie Champagne, Hannah Padial, Anna Reed, Taylor Ward, Eryn Short, Storey Carver, Haley Duke, Tripp Heck, Nolan Brown.  Congratulations to these students!


National Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Faerber for being recognized as the National Elementary P.E. Teacher of the Year!

Five Star Rating
