Challenging Curriculum

The ULS Elementary curriculum provides rigorous opportunities for students who demonstrate readiness by extending and enriching state-mandated public school grade-level performance standards and simultaneously providing support, intervention and remediation for students who demonstrate need. Additionally, elementary students receive regular instruction in music, art, physical education, Spanish, French, technology, guidance and library information resources from teachers who hold specialist certifications in the fields.

Low student/teacher classroom ratios allow us to provide close individual attention to students during daily lessons that intentionally integrate all content areas in meaningful ways and to focus on providing a variety of student engagement settings, including individual, small collaborative group and whole group opportunities. Curriculum developed in this manner allows students to explore their own personal interests and reveals talents that may have otherwise been unrealized.
